When it comes to style, there are certain things that I believe we should all keep in mind in order for us to feel and look our absolute best. I also believe that we learn as we go, so today I’m going to share with you some of the styling tips I’ve learned over the years.
To read all about them, just keep on scrolling…
1. Invest in a good bra
Every woman needs a good bra that supports her well. It’s also important to make sure your bras are the right size. Wearing a bra that’s too tight/too small not only looks bad, but it also restricts your blood circulation. No one wants that. Trust me, investing in a bra that fits properly and has good support will be extremely beneficial in the long run.
2. Black underwear are a must
I can’t tell you how many times black underwear have saved my life. When it comes to wearing white bottoms or any type of see-through clothing, black underwear are my go-to. I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand the thought of my underwear being visible through my clothes.
3. The dressier the look, the less accessories you need
This is a rule that I live by. If your outfit is more on the dressy side, consider keeping it simple with the accessories. That way your outfit will be the star of the show, and you don’t have to worry about your accessories stealing all the attention. Now, if your outfit is more on the simple side, then you can spice it up by adding really cute, show-stopping accessories. It’s all about balance.
4. You can’t go wrong with nude heels
Whenever I have trouble deciding which heels to wear, nude heels are my go-to. They pair well with pretty much anything. I suggest investing in a good quality pair that way you’ll get a lot of use out of them. I promise they’ll come in handy, and you’ll wear them a lot.
5. Pair loose with tight, never loose with loose
In my opinion, not many people can get away with pairing loose with loose. For example, a baggy top with baggy bottoms (if you’re someone who can, more power to you). To me, though, it’s just not a good look. I think it looks sloppy and not well put together. Loose with tight is definitely the way to go!
6. Wear clothes that flatter your shape
In addition to making sure you pair the right pieces together, you also want to make sure your clothes flatter your shape in general. That means not wearing clothes that are either too big or too small for your body type. It’s important to know your size and stick to it. *Clothes that are meant to be worn oversized are obviously an exception.
7. Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone
Once you have the basics down (the tips I mentioned above), don’t be afraid to try new things and experiment with your style. If you’re someone who loves neutrals, try experimenting with color. You may discover something new about yourself.
8. Know what works for you and what doesn’t
Regardless of what I or anyone else says, you know yourself the best, which also means that you know which styles work for you and which styles don’t. Always keep that in mind when it comes to fashion. This tip will take you a long way.
I won’t pretend to know everything there is to know about fashion and style, so if you have any good tips that you’d like to share with me, feel free to drop a comment below.
